Will Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom ever make it t ...
What do you guys think? I frankly don't understand Capcom's decision to make it a Wii exclusive. I mean if the Wii market won'tpurchase a Resident Evil shooter, what chance does a hardcore 2-d fighter wilth little known characters have?I think it's just a matter of time...but we'll have to see.
Why is the grenade launcher attatchment ...
Is this has to do with the Noob Tuber title? Why is the grenade launcher attatchment ...
No cause ever since COD4 (Or earlier, idk) people who used the Grenade Launcher were considered noobs cause its an easy kill, and people say that people who use it cant get kills so they resort to the ''Noob tube''
That is why. :PWhy is the grenade launcher attatchment ...
If people run around with a gun with a noob tube, a thumper, scavenger, danger close and commando it is often considered an easy kill. Therefore even noobs can use it.Even a single noob tube is considered kind of nooby.

lol i remember those days good times good times
I know the first time i learned about the ''noob tube'' it was playing Socom on PS2. It always ticked me off when people used it because it requires almost no skill but the people that use it say that a kill is a kill but id rather do it a little more honorably. It may be like that part in Indiana Jones where the guy has the sword and Indy just shoots him which is smart but where is the fun in that lol.

A different map should of been included ...
The snow map was way to hectic for people and new users to start off with. The map is too chaotic and dosen't offer anyone a chance to play properly especially when BF 1 veterans are there. In general I just wanted the desert map that we all seen in the video where the apachi saves the day.?A different map should of been included ...
I think it's a good map, but it would have been nice if there had been more than one map or a different gametype availiable as well.A different map should of been included ...
Idk, I enjoy the map they chose.

TES:Oblivion Mages Staff Scaling?
Sorry if I'm asking a lot of oblivion questions =P I finished the Mage's Guild quests, and am level 14. However, when I obtained my Staff of Paralysis, I was level 4. I was under the impression that the staff scaled in power with your level... but mine still only paralyzes for 2 seconds. Am I forever screwed since i got it at level 4? Or should it scale to my level. Because it should be i think a 6 second paralysis at level 14 O.o thanksTES:Oblivion Mages Staff Scaling?
The weapon's level is determined when you get it. So yes, you're screwed and it'll paralyze for 2 secs for the rest of the game. Here's a really helpful site for any more questions you have http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:OblivionTES:Oblivion Mages Staff Scaling?
damn that sucks, i guess i misread the oblivion game guide on gamespot''your staff, which is apparently levelled in effect so that it's appropriate no matter when you obtain it. At level 18, our Paralysis staff stunned enemies for eight full seconds!''I thought that meant that you could get it whenever as it got better with you. Whatever, I'll need to start actually looking at the weapons I pick up now xD see if I can find anything good

Oblivion expansions problems
I recently purchased TES: Oblivion: GOTY Edition. I have played through the game on two characters, so I wanted to try the expansions that came on the second disc. So I installed the expansions onto my 360. The expansions will not work though. I will not get the quest log update for the Shivering Isles, even after waiting 24 hours. I have tried uninstalling the game and the expansions reinstalling just the expansions, but it doesn't work that way either.Does anybody know how I could get the expansions to work?Oblivion expansions problems
On the first occassion before playing Oblivion G.O.T.Y.E.. insert disc 2.. after a few minutes the downloadable content will permanently be downloaded to your hard drive ( then remove disc 2, you only need it once ).. Then every time you want to play 'Oblivion G.O.T.Y.E' just use disc 1.. Put disc 2 back in the case and completely forget about it..Then every time you load your game (using disc 1) it will pause for about 15-20 seconds informing you that it's now downloading the additional content from disc 2 which is now 'perminentally' installed to your hard drive.. once you have done this you will be able to play 'knights Of The Realm' and 'Shivering Island' anytime throughout your Oblivion experience.. Shortly after starting your game the very first time, you will get a message imforming you that a strange island has appeared (that is your Q imforming you that 'Shivering Islands' is now available to be played when ever you require).. To start 'Knight's Of The Realm' talk to the crazy guy shouting his mouth off outside one of the churches.. (Use the 'Knight's Of The realm' location video on 'You Tube' to find his exact location (I can't remember)Your lesson for today is 'ALWAYS' read the manual, ESPECIALLY' when two discs are concerned.Game on !

mw 2 care package glitch
so theres a new glithch going where people are getting insane amounts of care packages, does anyone kno when this began?mw 2 care package glitch
like how many care packages?mw 2 care package glitch
like how many care packages?
I've been told that it's unlimited.
........................................................................................... are you serious ?
an unlimited amount when you look at their kill cam youll see like 8 around them and theyll have like 3 choopers going predator missiles and pave lows, its real lame
A new glitch already!? But didn't they just release a patch for it!?
This is why I stopped playing the game. Whenever they fix one glitch a few more show up. Maybe in a month or two I will give the game another try.
The patch that's going through Microsoft certification is fixing this. It'll probably be out within the week.http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1065157p1.html
Why can't people learn to spell? Yes it's a glitch and you can get unlimited care packages.

Battlefield bad company 2 question????
Okay I downloaded the demo when it came out I unlocked a few weapons and I ranked up to level 2. Now when the full game comes out and I start to play online will everything I've already unlocked be there and will I be at rank 2, or does everything reset since it's only a demo that I've been playing??? It not a big deal if I have to do everything all over again it's just a question my freinds and I have been wondering.Battlefield bad company 2 question????
nothing from the demo will carry over to the full game.Battlefield bad company 2 question????
Nope sorry, but its only a couple of unlocks plus im not sure about this but it may take less points to rank up and get the first couple of guns, I think it was reaised in the demo just to give you a taste.
yeah that's what we were thinking we just wanted to make sure, thanks for the help guys. :)

No, that is how long it will take to normally get the guns. (Both beta and demo took the same amount.)

Terminus n' Blood Dragon Armor help!
Ok for some reason cerberus network only shows that i have downloaded zaeed, normandy crash site, and the collector stuff. when i still have the terminus and blood dragon armor to get!heres a screenshot..someone on another forum i go to said it may have to do with my bioware/ea account(s) not having the same email as my xbox live gamertag... so i went thru and changed everything to my Live Email. but still nothing! (I have entered the codes before i did this, am i screwed until i talk to tech support?)Terminus n' Blood Dragon Armor help!
It doesn't look like your account is linked to your xbox gamertag, and I'm pretty sure that it needs to be. I don't remember how to do it thoughTerminus n' Blood Dragon Armor help!
Those codes only work once right? Ew, wou might be screwed if you entered them onto your account with no gamertag.
You might want to try to associate this account with your gamertag and see if that works. Although I don't know if you might run into a problem with overlapping accounts on that single gamertag. Worth looking into.
so basically its a call to tech support?
so basically its a call to tech support?
Sure. If you can, try what I mentioned first and try to associate your gamertag with that unassociated EA account. If it works, great. If you get some sort of message that your gamertag is already associated with another EA account, then ask for tech support.
You have to sign into your EA account using the e-mail that was assigned to your Gamertag the first time you played an EA game. I went through this trouble with Skate 2 trying to make board designs. You'll have to call support and get them to assign those codes to the EA account linked with your gamertag and while your at it please complain to EA that their EA accounts are garbage and cause nothing but trouble.
ok cause when i go to add persona and i type in my gamertag, it says its already associated, so its definitly going to be a tech call. thanks for your all the info tho!so should i call bioware or ea?

I guess I can understand how people could have sort of screwed this up but I didn't have any problems with the whole process. I always use one e-mail address for anything I do Xbox related. And I only have one gamertag, and I'm always careful with it. I already had an EA Sports account, which is really just an EA account. Created a couple of years ago because of Madden and I used it for importing my face into Tiger Woods 10. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the same account worked for Mass Effect. I almost forgot about it, but I figured I give it a shot before trying to create another account and risk running into a situation like the guy above. So in that sense, I give EA credit for making that one account carry over for all of their genres of games.
But this looks like the new trend for publishers to get us extra bonus content. Ubisoft has created the UPLAY network for its games. I have already been able to take advantage of it for a bunch of bonus stuff in Assassin's Creed 2, which I wouldn't have heard of otherwise. It's the only game the UPLAY network supports at this time, but in the future it will support Splinter Cell: Conviction. And I'll be all set for it.
So when another publisher pushes you to sign up with their own network for extra stuff, take your time to do it. And be careful about which e-mail address and gamertag you're using. It's always free to sign up and you'll end up getting some cool stuff. And once you sign up once, you're all set for all of their future games.

What's your biggest fail on the 360?
My biggest fail is when I was playing portal for the first time, I kept putting a portal in the wall and I saw someone in an orange like outfit so I kept chasing them (Thinking they were running away) So I keep going after about 30 minutes I realize that the person i'm chasing is myself... :\What's your biggest fail on the 360?
when i first got borderlands,i though i had to shoot nine toes in the toes or balls. What's your biggest fail on the 360?
Gears of War 2 matchmaking.

Fable 2 Knothole Island Free or Pay
What is the difference between the free and the one you pay for? Is it just co-op or is there something else? Also I'm sorry if this has been asked before now.Fable 2 Knothole Island Free or Pay
The free is co-op and you get some items but you can't actually go on the island. you can only actually go onto the island and get all the new quests from the one you pay for.Fable 2 Knothole Island Free or Pay
he is right, I downloaded the free one and the man appears by the docks, gives you some presents and then you have to purchase the premium, it-s wird -cuz the both weight like 500mb
thats so dumb that you have to download both
thats so dumb that you have to download both
You don't have to download both. If you buy the actual knothole island expansion, the co-op part comes with it. If your friend bought knothole island, and you want to play it co-op with him without buying it, you download the co-op (free) version.

Its way too early to tell but it would probably be ME2 or Gears of War 3 if it comes this year
Right Now, Mas Effect 2 is sitting pretty comfortable at the #1 spot.Still early of course, but its gonna take something BIG to knock it off

I agree. This game is definetly my pick for GOTY. Now I know it's early, but I just don't see how another game could top this masterpiece.
mass effect 2
I haven't played ME2 but it looks great, but I am looking forward to Alan Wake. GotY candidate by the looks of it.
(The game that is the best on the system multiplat or not) I'm going to say Red Dead Redemption because not only will it be a stellar game but it will appeal to a larger audience than ME2 or say games like Alan Wake(personal fav..from what I've seen) Halo Reach will be in the conversation but I don't think it will have that visceral experience a game like ME2 or Red Dead will have. Other honorable mentions: Mafia 2, BFBC2, Call of Duty Vietnam, Fable 3. Its all speculation though........wait 11 more mths to this day and I'll tell you my pick.
dont care what is coming, Mass Effect 2 will be GOTY.

ME2 now but next months coming awesomes games like final13 reach fable3 bioshock2 rage and more
ME2 is at the top imo. For me its one of the best games not only this generation but ever. Its early in the year and another game could be better, but right now its looking like ME2 to me.
mass effect 2 is in the lead..
my guess would be Alan Wake but only if it delivers on what they are promsing for it, i would maybe say bioshock 2 but i think bioshock was a fluke and the type of game that only works once. but Halo Reach will prolly get it just for the simple fact that it's Halo and the fanboys are plenty.
I'm gonna go ahead and say Halo Reach yeh alot of people are up for that but after reading the gameinformer review of the game it looks amazing, like all halos.

MW2 care package cheaters
This is terrible. The game is not even fun because a bunch of cheaters who obv suck at the game want to saturate the game with non stop care packages. Stop cheating and play the game. If youre afraid or too much of a sissy to go out and actually shoot people then dont bother playing. U guys are the reason why developers have to fix games and ruin it for everyone else. MW2 care package cheaters
Should have just called out all the hackers and glitch abusers in general, calling out one group of cheaters won't do any good.MW2 care package cheaters

What is the logic behind Microsoft offering the 250 gb HDD in Japan only? I have a 250 gb HDD for my PS3. Sony has no problem offering larger storage in America. Why doesn't MS offer it in its own home country? Rubbish....

Japan is still playing hard to get, therefore MS gives them better deals and does more for them.

Does anyone have this headset
So I have been looking on ebay for headsets, (I already have one just looking to upgrade) and I see all sorts of ones from Hong Kong that look like this
They are pretty cheap, so my question is are they any good, has anyone ever used themDoes anyone have this headset
Don't buy this garbage headset. More then likely they'll sound like crap, buy a better headset like turtle beach xlc or x'1 if your looking for something thats priced fairly. Does anyone have this headset
Buy trittions if you want good headphones for cheaper because of wires.
There are headsets from a brand called Turtle Beach. There is a set from $59.99 and a set for $199.99. I own the set for $59.99 and they are awesome. You should look them up/ get a pair! =D
i have never even seen these b4

Oh. Well I have the X1 and I paid $60 but I work at Meijer so I got a team member discount! =) The only upside to working in this hell hole!

Hi good folk,As the title states, I've got 2100 points. I would like to buy 1 1200 point game and 1 800 point game. The games I've looked at for 1200 points are... castle crashers and shadow complex.I have no idea which 800 point game to get. What would you recommend me? I like action games, rpg games, I like SOTN type games. Production value is also nice.I already own bionic commando, SOTN and Alien Hominid.Thank you kindly,InfinityGot 2100 XBLA points, need opinion on pu ...
If your into 'Behemoth' then you should check out 'Castle crashers'..If you enjoyed 'Alien Hominid' check out the demo's for 'Metal Slug 3' and 'Dishwasher Dead Samurai'.. both are great titles..'Every Extend Extra', 'Rez' and 'Geometry wars 2' are also great unique demo's to check out.Got 2100 XBLA points, need opinion on pu ...
shadow complex is 1200 points and a great gamealso i would suggest getting SPlosion Man which is on sale for a limited time for only 400 points (usually 800) a great game
I recommend using the Game Recommendation Sticky.
[This message was deleted at the request of the original poster]
Castle Crashers, 'Splosion Man, Assault Heroes 1 or 2, The Maw, and that's really all I can think of off the top of my head. But above all you should get Shadow Complex then wonder what you'll spend the remaining points on.
Thanks, I think i'll go with Shadow Complex for now. Might get Castle Crashers as well in the future.
I recommend using the Game Recommendation Sticky.
I recommend this recommendation and link it!
For that 800, check out some indie games. Some of them are better than XBLA titles actually. And games like I mad3 @ game with Z0mbi3s only cost 80pts.
I would say go with Shadow Complex, and Zombie Apocalypse.
get trials HD!! sooooo addicting. great to play with friends and non-video gamers since the concept is so easy.
Castle crashers it's multiplayer is more fun than it should have right to be
if you want some challenge you can always try Mega Man 9
huh, never heard of XBLA points. I always thought they were called ''Microsoft Points'', but I could be wrong. As far as what games to buy, I would reccommend this game called ''Think for Yourself''. It's a new title where you end up with 2100 Microsoft points at the beginning and throughout the game you have to buy stuff in the XBL Marketplace and actually make decisions on your own. It's pretty tight. I've beat it plenty of times.

why cant i download m rated materials?
i have an xbox live membership and yadda yadda yaddaim trying to download the trailer for dantes inferno, when i click download a box comes up and says that im not allowed to download stuff with this rating. i go to the family settings and find that the all games rated m and below are allowed to be downloaded, for good measure i change it to all games to be safe despite dantes inferno itself being rated Manyway ive tried it again and it wont work, i get the same message, i tried doing it thru my sisters account with the same settings and it still wont work, also im seventeen years old, its not like im trying to lie or anything why am i being stoppedthank you in advancewhy cant i download m rated materials?
you have to be 18. So you should have lied, not be Mr. Honestwhy cant i download m rated materials?
Until you are 18 you will continue to be unable to do so. i'm assuming you're g-tag is set to a child's account.
thats odd, the thing says seventeen plus, i thought i would be included in that bubbleanyway then how do i remove the ''child status''

aye thats a slightly funny thing, the games 17+ but xboxlives policy is basically if your not 18 you cant download mature rated games...erm I dont know why, I think its a blanket policy to avoid trouble with the different laws of different countries by just having one for them all, it sucks I know dude but good for you for not lying about your age, its refreshing to come across what might be an honest case with threads like this
You either gotta wait, or do what I did and make a new GT. 35k gamescore down the drain.
You could always just make a new Silver account to download M-rated content.
I have read that if you go the xbox.com and download it from there it should work. I have never tested that, but I know people that have gotten around the child account setting by doing it this way.

4 Red Rings of Death (Help!)
So I'm currently panicking at the moment because apparently my Xbox 360 is getting 4 red flashing rings and no matter how many times I plug and replug the damn A/V cable, it still doesn't work.Yes I am aware I could buy another one, but I have not the money or resources and even if I do buy another one, it could be that the Xbox itself is broken which would be Bad News Bears for me since I'm in college and can't afford to buy a new one, plus it's my ONLY DVD PLAYER.Somebody help!4 Red Rings of Death (Help!)

gears of war 3? epic confirmed big annou ...
OK it was confirmed that epic games on their twitter said get prepared for a big announcement at e3 2010. what do u think it will be? post ur predictions i hope its gears 3gears of war 3? epic confirmed big annou ...
the new unreal engine is complete...orShadow Complex IIgears of war 3? epic confirmed big annou ...
A UE updated with Tesselation? If would be interesting because while X360 doesn't have DX11, but, it has the ability to do tesselation by HW. While it may not work as crazy as a full DX11 card, but, I am sure the graphics can be upgraded on X360 using that.
Maybe Shadow Complex 2 because this time, Halo is making the push, not Gears.
Link please? :
|Hm.. Unreal Tournament wouldn't seem like the best choice, so as the above have mentioned,It's either Gears 3 or Shadow Complex II. Don't think they'll pop out a new game outside those game universes atm.My guts tell me though, it's ''too early'' for Gears, don't know if it's just me.. Imho, I think they'll pop Gears 3 next year, Q1 or Q2. Just a gut feeling :b.
Cliff promised ''face-melting'' news. Regardless of what it is, it better be face-melting.
CliffB left Epic.......... face melted. LOL
Lol he has nowhere else to go.
i cant wait for gears of war3 i hope revaled on e3

And it's usually lag related or the lack of consistency with the health/weapon power. But I have hope..I think Epic is gonna take a real hard look at how to truly improve on the Gears franchise.
they should fix shotgun lag, and make the rolling around realistic, who the hell can roll around non stop?
A Gears 3 with a long single player version + a decent on -line.

Shadow Complex 2 would be cool, but I still have my hopes of seeing Gears 3.
If it was Gears 3, I would be over the moon. Despite the lag in Gears 2, I loved it, including all the story mode, horde and online matches until the lag kicked in.

When did this happen? I didn't hear about this or find any info on it.
A decent send off for the Gears series. God did Gears 2 suck hard! The story will woeful, the multiplayer was even worse! The first Gears was bad ass but the 2nd one was boring, all I got was Dom whining about his wife.

Next XBOX wish list
Personally, I would like to see a terabyte drive for storage.Next XBOX wish list
i dont care for next xbox i enjoy 360 and ps3 for the moment Next XBOX wish list
Personally, I would like to see a terabyte drive for storage.
I'm sure we all would but then you see that might send the price tag WAY through the roof
to be honest I'm fine with the 360 as it is, and with natal we might see some interesting stuff before this generation is out so why be bothered :p
More storage for a FAIR price and more reliability with initial units.
i think it will use the cloud system where you dont actually need a physical disc just an internet connection to stream or download the games through.on my wishlist though it has to be... a toaster for my pop tarts
I was hoping for 1 yottobyte :\...
All I ask is that they make the hardware more reliable; I mean hell I have a 25-year-old NES that still works fine, and the only 2 consoles that have ever failed on my are the xbox and the xbox 360.
BUILT IN WIFI!! 100 bucks for a wireless adapter is so crap!!other then that its just awsome how it is..If they wanna take up blueray that cool also, but dont really care for it.Alot better system hardware.. no RROD
a cable you can plug into your head, ala the matrix, so that i can play in a virtual world............................come on its's the 21st century.
Gamerscore carries over.Backwards compatibilty.Larger hard drives. That's all I can think of. Built in WiFi would be nice but I wouldn't use it since I actually like to play online and also not lag everyone else out.
Personally, I would like to see a terabyte drive for storage.
Your'll be paying Apple prices for those. ?00 for a 120Gb drive? Laughable. For me, I want to see dedicated servers and bury P2P gaming for good.

* Much larger HDD
* Built-in WIFI
* RELIABILITY!
I don't see a need for the next XBOX for at least another 2-3 years.
Bluray or whatever the new disc will be by then, bigger HDD, better reliability
Dedicated servers, instead of allowing Joe Shmoe with his laggy connection host the matches.Hardware stability/reliability. Microsoft, you don't have to be like Ford. People will actually buy your products because they enjoy them, not because they enjoy them enough to repurchase them every time something fails. It only ticks people off more and deters them from buying future products.Wifi. Adapters are expensive. All other devices of such nature have built-in wifi. My laptop which is older than the console itself has built in wifi.Carrying over profile/gamerscore/avatars. With this I would actually like to see some use for gamerscore other than simple bragging rights. More games that offer actual rewards once achievements are unlocked, like we were promised. All of these things could actually be done during this generation. But for now I can deal with what we do have.
1) Build-in WiFi. Not that I am using it, but, I may use that one day. And it is not that expansive to make it onboard.
2) BR. Oh well, BR is standard now. No guessing here.
3) better reliability, not that I experienced one, but, it seems like a lot of people have this problem. Those suck in DVD drives would reduce disc scratching lovers for starter.
4) cloud game saves. Game saves are fairly small, so, it would be cool to save them on the cloud. Easier to bring up your characters when you go to friends house, or I simply have two X360, one is living room and one in my room. (Actually one in my dorm and one in my home, which is 40minutes drive). It sucked when I forget to dring my HDD and you know it is far away.
5) Adjustible D-Pad. The most problem with Dpad is, the UP from my thumb is actually a bit tilted to the left because of the thickness of the controller. Or it has to do with the fact that the analog stick is top-left of D-pad. So, my thumb tend to press top-left when I tried to press UP. Kind of annoying. And the d-pad kinds of wiggle around, which is unstable. Why not just replace it with 8 buttons instead?
6) Keep a list of things I bought/own and deleted (full game, not demos, not trails.). On X360, since I can see that on xbox.com.
7) Build-in power brick and softer cords. I know there are pros with external power brick, but, they are annoying. Softer power cords, they are so hard to bend.
9) Bigger HDD is not that important to me. But, if there is a need, I guess I would store a lot of 1080p movies on it. I still prefer to have games packed in DVD size. With tesselation out there, the giant mesh is not stored anymore, so the space is small with a lot more details. But, if there is a need, yes, I will download/play BR sized games.
Less lag for the guide.

Are you talking about DLC? Because they keep very good records of everything you've ever downloaded.
I am happy with how the 360 is and I am not even thinking about what the next one is going to be like.
It NEEDS to be backwards compatible. Also, it should carry on the Live service, ie. Your gamertag, gamerscore, bio etc should carry over. Larger HDD is a pretty obvious one. A built in ipod dock would be nice ..... but i cant see that happening :P

Internet options?
So i finaly got a 360 and now i want to get on Xbox live, the provlem is DSL isnt available into my area and neither is cable, I have hughes net right now but I want to find some way to have a stable connection to live, any ideas?Internet options?
where do you live? is there a satellite company available?
That would be a bad idea since he'd be unable to play online with anyone
I live in Louisiana and i am currently stuck with satellite and as jaysonguy said its bad, i can hardly connect to live much less play with it, this is why i wondering if anyone knew of something better?
hmm... well, you're eff'd. sorry dude
That's what i was thinking **** AT%26T
The only thing you could maybe, potentially do, is get a verizon or at%26t usb dongle and use it on a laptop. Then share your lap top's internet connection with your xbox and run ethernet to your xbox from your laptop. I used to do this but then I bought a xbox wireless adapter! You are in a bad spot man... Sucks to be you =/
Indeed it does. Thanks for the advice though, may try that. Could it work with a desktop?, as that's all i have
Should be able to. When you do the properties for you internet connection you simply check the box that says ''I would like to share my internet connection'' and it puts a little hand under symbol and then your internet goes from your (receiving) PC to your Xbox. It didn't always give me the best connection but it got the job done until I got a wireless adapter. I can't guarantee this will work so i'd research it more before spending all the money and signing up for 2 year contracts... ;)
K, thanks a ton for the help.

I think you can activate one, then add the rest in the dashboard, look around there to redeem code or something, repeat 'till done. (Not sure)
Trial as in 48hours or a month?
Not sure how 48hours works but 1 month, just activate one and then keep activating the rest to get the 5 months

Getting an Xbox just for ME2; a few ques ...
I don't have an Xbox 360 but am heavily thinking about it, and primarily because of a few titles coming up this year, one of which has already been released. Mass Effect 2. I am so exciting about playing this game and I haven't even played the first. So, could someone either tell me in a spoiler what the story was in a nutshell, or if I need the story at all? Also, how long is it? Thanks.Getting an Xbox just for ME2; a few ques ...
You should just get ME first and beat it since it's only 20$ max atm. Trust me it would be far better to play the first one yourself.Getting an Xbox just for ME2; a few ques ...

I don't have the time or interest to be honest.
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/StorylineI think it is better to play the first one to give you a better understanding. Plus there are some returning characters in ME2 that have special dialogues and certain events altar depending on the choices you made on ME.
Find the time and interest dude, there's really no excuse to take away from the sequel by not playing the first game when its this cheap and its just as amazing as the second one. The overall story isn't what makes Mass Effect great, its the universe that has been established and all that characters that live inside of it, by not playing the first game you're missing out on A LOT of the great things that make the sequel so good. ME2 is built around moments that make you go ''Wow I remember this from the first game, and this guy how i helped him, or killed this other person.'', it also builds on a lot of the foundation that was laid in ME1 regarding the different alien races, when you have the opportunity to visit some of the actual planets that you only HEARD about in the first game, you'll probably piss yourself in excitement.
Play ME1 and then 2, its not going anywhere.

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/StorylineI think it is better to play the first one to give you a better understanding. Plus there are some returning characters in ME2 that have special dialogues and certain events altar depending on the choices you made on ME.

ME2 verses ME1 for better or for worse?
I just got my CE edition of ME2 4 days ago, just finished my third playthrough and gotten most of the game completed. I quickly picked up on a few thing after playing for a bit.For better, the detail/graphics, and the auto-assigning better weapons. For worse, ME2 compared to ME1 has lost some of its ''Free roam/play'' feeling like ME1 had. The armor being mostly restricted to pre-order bonuses and dr.pepper codes, and very few weapons (atleast compared to ME1). Another thing was how much fewer shops there were and (yes i know theres a reason) how much tinier the citadel was.Well some can debate that this is not the truth, a game without an inventory is kind of annoying. I liked selling old junker weapons for cash to buy new weapons. The storyline seems to be less ''thrilling'' aswell. The plot itself is perfect, but the way they tell it in ME2 kinda stinks. atleast from my viewPersonally I would have rather have seen a ''digitally remastered'' edition of ME1 come out instead of this new game. Anyone got thoughts/comments on this?ME2 verses ME1 for better or for worse?
I don't know dude, it might be my favorite game this generation... there's something really gripping about the universe and characters.ME2 verses ME1 for better or for worse?

I know what you mean. Mass Effect is one of the best trilogy's that will exist EVER and I was glad for a continuation of the story. I just feel they ditched a few things that made ME1 so grand. And the RPG game has lost some of its RPG'ness.
ME2 is better then ME1 in every single way.Bioware did an amazing job making a good series into a masterpeice.Better combat, better voice acting, better optimized, MUCH better level design and more fun.To be honest I could careless about a useless inventory from ME1.They did the impossible and made ME1 even better with ME2.95% of the stuff you found in ME1 was useless anyways, im glad they fixed that part of the game. The only thing that ME1 did better was that it was longer (ME1 lasted me 48 hours while ME2 lasted me 38 hours)

Don't you miss the citadel at all? Call me old fashioned but I think/wish bioware could have made some kind of integration with the council and the citadel a bit more. Like, I don't care how long ago, but the guy that plopped you into the councilor chair/saved your hide should deserve kind of ''YAY YOUR BACK!''
I think ME2 tells the Story nicely.. They didnt want to put him on a chair and say ''yay he's back''..
Theres a part in the Story at the start that says why the council wasnt welcomeing him back.. or when you get to the citidel for teh first time i think Anderson explains it.. I think most ppl would have loved a larger City area to walk around in tho.. They do have alot of other nice areas tho..
Great game..
ME2 is miles better than ME1, IMO.
ME2 is better then ME1 in every single way.Bioware did an amazing job making a good series into a masterpeice.Better combat, better voice acting, better optimized, MUCH better level design and more fun.
^This.

See, this is where the debate goes on about what you consider an RPG. To, I guess it would be the ''RPG Purist,'' they expect huge inventory screens and lines and lines of stat allocation with combat being more base on your stats.
But ME2 trimmed down what it already did in ME1, got rid of the horrible, unorganized inventory, made the game less about nitpicking inventory and stat allocation and more about the action and your interactions with the characters and the overall story. So you get to focus on ''playing your role'' in this complex story.
Joystiq had a review that was totally online with how I felt about the game.
Review: Mass Effect 2
I think more games should and will move in this direction. It is a much more engaging experience IMO.
I know what everyone means, but no ones really answer my question. I know the combat system is much more improves, many perks about stats/weapon assigning make it easier. But, my question is the comparison of ME1-ME2. ME2 is better then ME1 alot, but what if we removed that 5 year difference?Removing controversial topics like the inventory. The combat system is better, graphics are better, but what if ME1 had the advantages that new technology gives bioware in 2010? Would it be better or for worse.Never heard anyone argue about them removing some of the RPG'ness about it. RPG itself is free roaming customization. I miss the fact that theres only really 2 sets of armor in the entire game. and only like 2-4 different weapons for each weapon type.So im asking, everyone think really hard about it, is ME2 really better, or is it just the graphics and the extra little perks? I preffer ME2 alot more, but if you made both games in the same year id go with ME1

ahh thank god. I beleive some games go overboard with loot and all that. But come on! RPG games man, id like some customization besides pre-order bonuses and a bottle of Dr.Pepper (a dr.pepper slogan on armor would be cool tho)
I think they're both grade ''A'' material for sure. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. ME2 has much longer gameplay and replay value, as opposed to ME1. However, they took out vehicles (unless they're further on in the game) in ME2, I know both will leave a lasting impression on me, almost like seeing a great movie. They're both epic games in my book.
me2 is better, though i really miss the familiar feel of me1. the lousy mako handling, boring terrains, rpg elements, yeah, i really do miss that. but something about me2 is compelling. it feels like a whole new game. it's still an rpg really, but rather than upgrading stats, you upgrade through equipments, by scanning and stripping planets of it's resources a lot that enviromentalist should sue bioware.
I agree about the lack of different armor although you way you can customise your armor is cool. Im actually glad theres no inventory system. Trying to juggle the numerous weapons, augmentations and armors was a pain in the first ME. Maybe instead of removing it though, Bioware could've just greatly improved the UI to make it easier. I don't know, overall though im liking ME2 a lot more.
I wish Ashley/Kaidan had a bigger role in the game, considering they were only there for like 20 seconds.
I havent finished the game yet but the amount of time ashley/kaiden are in ME2 might be due to a choice you made in ME1 involving the storyline (if i remember correctly)

ME 2 second disk!
If I am on the second disk for ME 2, am I more than half way through the game?ME 2 second disk!
If your on the second disc then your half way then, when it comes the final parts of the game it will ask ou to put in the 1st disc again. Bioware did this becasue a large majority of the game is on the second disc, or at least the bigger parts.ME 2 second disk!

That sucks though, I am enjoying it way too much at this point, and I don't want it to be over. I've never really been a big RPG fan but ME 2 is absolutely incredible. I played it all weekend, I couldn't put it down and now that i'm back at work, I can't wait to get home and play it some more. How many hours did it take you to complete it? And did you do a bunch of the side missions?
It's that good of a game that it's TWO disks??
I'm at 26 hours and I'm not on the second disk yet.
I beat the game in 20 hours total exactly. Everyone was loyal, around 90 percent of the side missions were complete. All upgrades were done. It has some decent replayability and I love the game but I was disappointed that it was kinda short. Though I guess when I think about it 20 hours isnt short, I just wish it had gone on alot longer than it did.

Wow, I must be really milking it then lol, but I don't feel like I am going abnormally slow.
It's actually closer to the 1/4 point than anything. Maybe 1/3.
actually just because you reached the second disk dosent mean your halfway through. I reached the second disk early on and i would say i was only 1/4 way through the game. It depends on if you have been attack the maion missions or not if not then it could be halfway but if you are its very easy to reach the second disk with nothing extra completed.

Kind of. I switched to disc 2 about 7 hours in and I'm currently at hour 20 and still on disc 2. But I've been doing all the loyalty missions. I'd assume the game is significantly shorter if you don't do them.

If you just go straight towards your objectives in missions and dont stop for anything it doesnt take long but as stated I did it on easy mode which decreases the fighting time trememdously. I never played this game for the action sequences I liked the story and the characters.I always beat games fast when I really get into them. I remember when the first Fable came out I picked it up at the midnight opening and already beat it before Gamestop closed the following day at 9pm. Was the first person to trade it in. Should have just rented it. Right now I am playing Dragon Age and so far this game seems like it will take alot longer to beat than Mass Effect 2. 45 or so minutes in and im only at 2% complete. I am looking forward to a nice long game this time, should take me at least a week =)

I'm playing the game on the hard setting but I have only died 3 or 4 times so far.
I think it might depend on where you're going. I'm not even 10 hours in yet, and I was asked to swap discs when I landed on a certain planet.
you have to change the disc when you're going to illium. man, i love that place, along with omega and zakera ward of citadel. the view of the citadel from zakera ward is beautiful. illium is very cool as well, made me wish i was playing the game in 3d.

Yeah well the first Mass Effect lasted me 15 hours, I am already on 19 hours on ME2.

I was pretty surprised to hear he beat it 90% in 20 hrs too.
Kind of. I switched to disc 2 about 7 hours in and I'm currently at hour 20 and still on disc 2. But I've been doing all the loyalty missions. I'd assume the game is significantly shorter if you don't do them.

yeah all you have to do is keep checking with kelly after each mission. After you reach a certain point in the game though it only takes completing one mission after acquiring a teammate to unlock their mission. Also it shows up in your journal when it is availble and of course if you talk to them.

whats your favorite ammo type in ME2? i had to combine incendiary and Armor piercing because i can only have 5 choices and they seem kind of similar in terms of affects on armorME2 favorite ammo?

Armor peircing seems to do by far the most damage as pretty much every enemy has a health and armor bar. +70% damage or +50% to the entire squad is huge
isn't warp a biotic power?
isn't warp a biotic power?
jack's special power is warp ammo. its a toned down warp in every shot. you can get to use it though advanced training or choosing it when you make a 2nd character, in both cases you need jack to have been loyal at some point though

ME begining cutscenes
does anyone else hate the cutscene in the very begining of ME2? this was a problem in ME1 for me too. they take forever to end and when your on your 3rd or 4th playthrough it just gets annoying. i would love to see a skip option in ME3. anyone else think so?EDIT: i dont meen i hate the cutscene itself, im not saying their poorly done and its a bad story. i just meen after 3+ playthroughs it gets a little repetitive to watch the intro again and againME begining cutscenes
it's only like once in the whole game. i don't mind it, it's nicely done anyway.ME begining cutscenes
No I love cutscenes. Plus the Mass Effect ones are done so well its a pleasure watching them
......../facepalm.Are you serious? I'm trying out a fifth character and I still enjoy watching them, and get goose bumps from them.

Do I need to play the first Mass Effect?
I have not play the first Mass Effect. In order to understand the second one, do I need to play the first one first? And how long is this game?Do I need to play the first Mass Effect?
Usually the answer to this type of question is always no... but with mass effect I need to give you a yes, without experiencing the first one you will be missing out and a ton if you go straight to the sequel.Do I need to play the first Mass Effect?
yes its not as personalized if you havent
you dont NEED to play the first mass effect...you could easily wiki what the story is about so far, but i highly recommend that everyone play the first one...it is a GREAT game, and you can pick it up for like 10 dollars anywhere...how can you beat that...also the nice thing about playing the first one before the second is that all of your major decisions that you did in the first carry over to the second game...the only thing i suggest about mass effect 1 is that the first 2-3 hours are kind of boring, but once you get past that the game is greatMass effect 1 is more RPG, and the combat is not as good but is still a great game...mass effect 2 is more combat oriented and is meant to appeal to the mainstream gamer...both great games, and both should be played by every gamer
Yes10-20 hours
It's not necessary, only if you want to.
Play the First one for sure.. Length is good.. im at about 22 hours on my first playthrough.. and i got heaps to go..
I zipped through the first one in about 12 hours on casual the week before ME2 came out. Glad I did because I would not be enjoying ME2 as much if I did not know the character's backgrounds and story line for ME1.
You don't have to, but I recommend it. If not, you can find find a ''Mass Effect in 5 Minutes'' video on Youtube. As to your second question - it took me just over 20 hours to finish Mass Effect. It pretty much varies for each player due to side missions, etc.
Yes, play it don't hesitate, just do it. I've had # 2 for a week but havn't opened it yet cause i'm still finishing every little thing in the first game.
Seems u have your anwser.YES!
you will enjoy the second a little more and you will be more attachto the story
I say play ME1 first, its a great story in this series, so why not witness it from the begining?
I can't believe there is anyone that still hasn't played the first one, I beat it 3 times.
no, but me2 will be so much better if you continued me1 save game. in the default me2 save game, shepard did neutral decisions in me1, didn't use charm or intimidate, straight and romanced with alliance squad members, and didn't do side missions.
