Portal is so amazingly overrated

Ive been reading a bunch of ''Best of the Decade'' lists for video games, and not only have I seen Portal in a number of the lists, some sites have even managed to put it as the #1 game of the decade. Im not understanding this because the game isn't that deep to begin with, it's a pretty simple gameplay gimmick that manages to be a fun and interactive 3D puzzle game. That, in my mind is a revolution in itself, but it really isn't that fun to play in my opinion, and I didn't find it as funny as many people seem to think. oh come on..............this game takes a well used game type (fps) and does something totally new with it.its a fps where you kill no one.the puzzles get harder and harder, you have challanges and there is humour there.perhaps not the number 1 game, but for a DLC, one of the best.Portal is so amazingly overrated

no, it really isn'tit justifies how well it's rated in almost every aspectit's balanced, entertaining, intelligent and actually pretty damn funny
I beat it far too quickly for me to really enjoy it. I simply saw this as another example of a game where if everyone says it's ''good'' then you'll try and convince yourself that it is when you're playing it. I stopped deluding myself after I figured out what the whole companion cube thing was about. I let that stupid thing burn and I was happy.In terms of puzzles I found Braid to be so much better.

Portal: Still Alive is, but nowhere did he state that he was referring to that.
Who cares about the gameplay?As long as you know the cake was a lie.....
Its a fun little game imo, very unique. Not my favorite game of this decade, but definatly one of the most unique.
Portal is awesome.People that say otherwise are *wrong*. :P

well best game of the decade is overrated for any game , for the most part i think is not overrated
It's good, not the best, but I still enjoyed it.

It's definitely one of the top 3 most original and innovative games on the decade. I wouldn't put it at #1, but it definitely deserves a place in the top 10. I'd put GTA3 as the #1 game of the decade.
I think it's rated exactly how it should be. It's fun, unique, takes a genre and does something completely different with it, the story is phenomenal, and it has some of the best pitch black humor to grace the video game world.

Over rated??....Nuh uh!!



I loved the puzzle elements, Dark humour and GladOS' voice, all of which made me laugh each time i heard one of those turrets, oh....lets not forget how you murder your weighted companion cube in the incinerator :))
