How to delete a live account

I would like to make an account on bungie.net with my gamertag and all that Jazz but the thing is I have two accounts with the same email and info and when I type it in my old account comes up and I was wondering If i deleted it if it would show my current account. Also what would I do to delete the old one, I'm thinking I should renew it to my xbox and then delete it from there.
