Is anyone else as excited about the release of bioshock 2? I preordered the special edition in early 2009 before a special edition had even been announced. What are you looking forward to about Bioshock 2? Do you think the sequel is necessary? Can it measure up to Bioshock? What are your thoughts?Bioshock 2: am i the only one...?
IMHO Bioshock was a game that didnt really need a sequel but im still renting it tho.Bioshock 2: am i the only one...?
I think a lot of people are very excited for Bioshock 2, it's just getting over-shadowed by Mass Effect 2. I think both titles will be amazing.
I am really looking forward to it! I like the Bioshock universe, and I hunger for more!I think this sequel will indeed be a great game no doubt. I am mostly looking forward to the new content, compared to the old from the first,also.. The Storyline, which is probably my number one.with that said, I'm ready for anything, and excited about the game in whole!
I'm very cautious with my expectations. I think that compared to the first part, Bioshock 2 is very likely to be a disappointment. Especially concerning the ''added multiplayer - weaker singleplayer'' problem.
How did you order a special edition if it wasn't announced yet?
I am excited for it, and I think the angle of the multiplayer (taking place during the ''civil war'' of Rapture) is a phenomenal touch from a storyline standpoint, giving the multiplayer a lot of depth in the history of Rapture.I do however think that the Gamestop commercial, while it is funny, makes the game look like a bad episode of Red Vs. Blue with the way the animation plays out. Just my thoughts.
I'm really looking forward to Bio shock 2. I traded my copy before they announced the sequel but i've bought a pre-owned to play it agin just before it comes out.
The gameplay is great in Bioshock and I have a hard time believing the sequel can match it, but I have my hopes and have pre-ordered Bioshock 2 just because it looks so damn nice in both screenshots and videos.
im looking forward to it quite alot, more than mass effect 2 anyway. its not getting too much hype from me though coz i have my doubts.
Trust me man, you aren't the only one. I've also preordered it, paid for it, and am now waiting for them to just give it to me so I can just go back to Rapture again. I've already heard that a few gaming magazines have given Bioshock 2 great reviews saying that it was better than the first.

One even said that it was much better improving on everything.
While it may or may not be a good game, I will be abstaining. I truly didn't feel that Bioshock needed a sequel.
Their is never going to be any opinion or view where you are ''the only one''. Ever.
I was never really happy about them making a sequel,I was just afraid it'd ruin the magic of the first. But after playing BioShock 1 again yesterday,I remembered how much I loved Rapture's whole atmosphere and environment; it would be nice to return. So I'm gonna give the sequel a try,but I'm probably just going to rent it though.

You know the problem with that, you go into the game with your mind made up that it will be a subpar experience compared to the first and you trick yourself into experiencing it that way. It's the same as when people overhype themseleves thinking a game will be this experience that cant be matched, they go in sure it will be like that and they underwhelmed. Expectations is the easiest way to ruin a game for yourself. If its a franchise you know and a franchise you like, just go in thinking you will likely enjoy it. The moment you start putting levels and comparisons to it, your setting the experience up for a fall.
I'm very excited for Bioshock 2 i thought the first one was very good (though i got scared in medical pavillion and stopped playing for a while) i might get it but prolly gunna get borderlands and its DLC
Especially concerning the ''added multiplayer - weaker singleplayer'' problem.
You won't have that problem. 2K Marin and 2K Australia are making the singleplayer while Digital Extremes is making the multiplayer.
I feel that bioshock 2 will be the game of the year
