Your favorite setting for a game

Here's what I'm referring to with the different settingsModern: Present day in a semi-believable setting; examples include GTA4, Splinter Cell, and Modern WarfareSci-Fi: pretty broad, can depict pretty much anything that is not currently around but is at least scientifically plausable; examples include Halo, Resident EvilHistorical: In the past, but in a semi-believable setting, often inspired by actual history; examples include the older CoD games, Red Dead Revolver, and Assassin's CreedPost-Apocolyptic: Many would lump this with sci-fi, but there are so many games that use this setting that I think it deserves a category all it's own; usually set in some sort of wasteland world that's been devastated by catastrophic events; examples include Fallout, Borderlands, Gears of War, and Left 4 DeadFantasy: contains many things that are not scientifically possible, such as magic, dragons, demons, etc.; examples include Dragon Age, Silent Hill, Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May CryI personally prefer sci-fi, but maybe that's just because mass effect has really given me a soft spot for that setting.Your favorite setting for a game
You can call me a fantasy guy. I'm the guy who will pick up any game as long as it has dragons and knights and such in it. Your favorite setting for a game
Either Modern or fantasy. But i went with Modern. I like fantasy games to as long as their not TOO far out.
I tend to like Fantasy games. I like all those ''settings'' but I like Fantasy best probably.
Maybe a tie between Fantasy and Sci-Fi
Modern setting for me, but Historical and Post-Apocalyptic are not far behind.
nothing beats space age alien killing!
Post-Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi, or a combination of both.

Yeah, post-apocolyptic is technically a subgenre of Sci-Fi, but like I was saying, there's so many games that use this setting that it deserved its own category.
Ever since I played Kotor I have been into Rpgs and sci-fi games.
I can't stand SCI-FI usually..

I liked starwars a bit though, (Battlefront and I think I'll like the mmorpg bioware is making) But I love all 3 historical, fantasy and post apoc.. and modern. ... But I went with post apoc :)
I would consider L4D (my favorite game) post apocolytic, so I'll go with that. Also fantasy because I love RPG's like Tales Of Vesperia and Star Ocean.
I have to go with sci-fi. Two of my top three games of all time(Mass Effect 2 and Assassin's Creed II) are sci-fi.
sci-fi and modern
I like games with a medieval feel to them, such as Oblivion and Dragon Age.
I like various settings for games. On the sci-fi front, I like Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 as well as Bioshock, as well as some of the Star Wars games. On the modern front, I like COD MW 1 and 2. On fantasy, I like Final Fantasy (awaiting XIII) and whatnot. Right now, the main games I'm playing on my 360 are Mass Effect 2, Bioshock, and Assassin's Creed.
Modern, and i also like games set on a tropical island for example far cry.
Fantasy / Sci-Fi
I like many of those, but the best has to be Sci-Fi. Mass Effect makes sure of that. =)
i chose science fiction because that is what my mind preferred to go with at the time. low and behold, over forty votes.command and conquer 3 is like that. in the story the game has, it has an alien invasion then everything that would happen after that. everything else is kind of not like science fiction. command and conquer 4 appears to be a dissapointment.
