How the hell do you make the helicopters go in the direction you want them to and stay in the air i always get in the helicopter and i climb up and the helicopter just starts going backwards and i crash.BFBC2 question

I just change the controls to make it feel better and easier. But I think the left bumper makes it rise and left trigger makes it lower. The two analogs control the direction
