I just beat ME2 in around 28 hours. I beat 8 out of 9 loyalty quests, I did most of the side quests I could find except 4, I beat over 5 uncharted planet missions or whatever they are called and I was playing on normal. I don't know how I could have missed 32 hours of content because I doubt I missed that many side quests. I'm not complaining or anything I just don't know how this game can last 60 hours. How was ME2 supposed to last for 60hrs?
Who said that it was 60 hours? They said that about Dragon Age (and for me that was accurate) but I never heard that high of a number for Mass Effect 2.How was ME2 supposed to last for 60hrs?

I guess listening to those people was a mistake because they have no idea what they were talking about. The length didn't matter to me because it was a fantastic game. I guess I learned not to listen to random people on this site anymore unless, it's someone who knows exactly what they are talking about. I guess this is directed to the people who said it was gonna last 60 hours, I want them to tell me how it's supposed to last that long.
I put nearly 40 hours in my last playthrough. There's a lot of assignments I missed on my first playthrough and I thought I did most of them. There's probably more that I missed.
im about 35+ hours in. just recluted the last member of my team. still a couple more side missions to do.. Exelent game btw
I'm 28 hours in. Still have three loyalty missions to do and I haven't done any uncharted planet missions yet.
More than enough game-length imo, especially for a game that encourages at least two playthroughs.
I'm guessing you skip custscenes and don't read any codexes, correct?

Don't forget scanning planets for the necessary resources to get all your research upgrades. That's a big timesink.

Indeed, I haven't played ME2 yet, but from all my experience with Bioware games, I know that you have to skip a ton of little things in order to beat any of their games in under 30 hours.

I think it was pretty do-able in ME1, even if you did pretty much all the sidequests. I did all the sidequests (to my knowledge) and thoroughly explored all dialogue and did in like 27 hours I think, on normal difficulty.
ME2's quite a bit bigger though.
Review estimates are always grossly inflated - usually by one and a half to two times.
I mean, the first Mass Effect lasted me 20 hours on my first playthrough, which was a lot less than other people claimed.

it can also depend on the difficulty, going through on easy would take significantly less time than going through on insane
As others have said, I don't know where you got 60 hours from. Everywhere I read and from everyone I talked to it took about 30-35 hours for a full playthrough. As in all missions and assignments, 100% galaxy exploration. My finish time was 38 hours, but spent hours depleting every single planet I came across. Had an extra 200k eezo and 5-600k of each of the rest. Still was short almost 300k cred though, seems the only way to buy everything is to do a NG+ where you start with a truckload of creds. Also, there are 11 loyalty missions, not 9.
I'm guessing you skip custscenes and don't read any codexes, correct?
Why would I skip cutscenes? I read atleast 70% of the codexes but, I skipped the ones that didn't sound interesting.

only if you have the DLC and save
legion
Took me almost 25 hours on normal. I'm guessing that number would increase significantly playing higher difficulties. Normal wasn't that easy though, I couldn't imagine playing on Insanity :?
It took me 39 hours to beat the game, but I did like 95% of the side quests.Go do all the side quests. Not all the ones that are just on your QUEST JOURNAL, but go to every planet again taht you can land on and talk to everyone (even some new people will talk with you after you do certain missions).
Im at about 30 hours and i just passed through the omega 4 relay.. so last quest i beleive.. Im more then happy with the lengh of this game.. makes for perfect replay value without worrying about it being to
long to replay.

yeh thats the thing, its fun to replay because its not such a chore. You have a chance to experience the game from a lot of angles (class, sex, paragon/renegade) without it taking an insane amount of time to do
